Hello again, it's good to be back.  Chris and Mary spent most of July in Europe visiting friends and family and have just returned.  What a great trip!! Lots of stories and experiences...lots of inspiration for some new music!! On that front, the band is currently finishing up a side project, Dust Company, which consists of a 12 song recording, in collaboration with some of their good friends and local musicians, of some traditional Christian music redone in a contemporary way.  This album should be released before Christmas this year.  In addition, the band has already started putting songs together for the next Galea album, which should be embarked upon before the end of the year.  Other live performances are expected as well.  We'll keep you posted...

Greetings everyone, Galea is currently in Europe right now visiting friends and family in Spain and France.  We will return at the end of July and bring you all some updates for the fall.  Enjoy your summer!!

Galea will be performing on Friday evening, May 14th as part of a benefit concert for Mercy Street Ministries, an organization that provides mentoring for at risk public school children in West Dallas from the 4th grade through high school graduation. The band will go on at 7 pm and do an acoustic set of material from Theo's Drive-in plus a few blasts from the past! Go to live shows for more details. Hope to see you there.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to Dunn Brothers, it was a great show. Inspired performances by Will Richey and Paul Finley really made for a magical night! Chris and Mary are working right now in the studio on an acoustic side project which will hopefully be released this summer. They will be collaborating with some other local musicians and it's shaping up to be a great project. Details to come...

The band is playing at Dunn Brothers this Saturday night in Addison, Texas. They will do a 30 minute set and open for their good friend, Austin guitarist Paul Finley. See the live shows link for more details.

The first show of 2010 is confirmed at Dunn Bros in Addison, TX as they team up with Austin guitarist Paul Finley.  The band will do a 30 minute set of acoustic versions of songs from Theo's Drive in.  They are really looking forward to changing up the tunes to suit the intimate vibe of a coffee shop, but have no fear, more raucous, high volume club dates are planned for later this spring!!  See the live shows link for more details.

Happy New Year everyone! We are glad to be back after some holiday time off. This spring the band will start writing their next record and hopes to go into the studio sometime this summer. Speaking of recording, Chris and Mary have already begun preproduction work on an acoustic side project at Café Solo Studios. More about that later. Finally, speaking of acoustic, Galea will do an acoustic set in March at Dunn Brothers in Addison as part of a show that features their good friend, Paul Finley. Details to come...

Congratulations are in order for Ashley Cleveland, whose album God Don't Never Change, was just nominated for a Grammy in the category of best traditional gospel album. Chris and Mary had the pleasure of sitting in with Ashley twice this year at concerts in Dallas and Montgomery, AL.

Chris is recently back from Houston after mixing the Black Lines Silver Wings EP. This is yet another project that was engineered and produced by Chris at Café Solo Studios in Dallas. To hear some tracks from the forthcoming EP, click on the link.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last Saturday, we had a great time! This was the last show for 2009 as the band is going to take a few weeks off during the holidays. Mary is going to Spain for a week or so to visit her Dad, who lives in Barcelona. Chris will be traveling to Houston to mix an EP for the band Black Lines Silver Wings. It's a recording that was engineered by Chris at his studio in Dallas (Café Solo) and he is going to Houston to work with Alan Doss once again on the mix. More to come on that topic shortly.

There are many more live performances planned for Galea next year, including some acoustic sets, so stay tuned.

The next live show is this Saturday, November 14th, at the Skillman Street Bar. The band should go on around 9:00p.m. so get there early! This will be the last live show for this year, with more dates planned in 2010!

Chris' solo acoustic album, entitled Acoustic December, is now available for purchase online. It is a collection of traditional Christmas carols arranged for acoustic guitar. Samples of the album and more info can be obtained by clicking on the image below.

For those of you in the Dallas area, the band plays this Saturday night, October 17th, at the Curtain Club. The show will feature some new guitar sounds, as Chris has recently reconfigured his guitar rig. The band is scheduled to go on at 9 p.m.

After taking a couple of weeks off, Chris and Mary played a show recently in Montgomery, AL, backing up Nashville recording artists Kim Hill and Ashley Cleveland, who are Dove and Grammy Award winners, respectively. For the concert Chris played guitar and Mary played bass, not surprisingly.

Now they have turned their attention back to Galea and some more Texas shows are scheduled for this fall...details to come shortly.

The band has returned from their tour with the Galactic Cowboys and all that can be said is that it was a tremendous success! Turnout for all of the shows was better than expected, and all of the audiences were very receptive and enthusiastic about the music. The band made many friends and hopefully some new fans along the way and wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to the shows. More live dates for Galea are in store this fall so stay tuned.

The band began rehearsals this week for the Texas tour with the Galactic Cowboys, which starts on August 13th. They will play about a 35-40 min set and it will feature material from Theo's Drive in, plus a couple of surprises...

That's right. After a nearly 10 year absence the Galactic Cowboys (Geffen, Metalblade) have decided to get back together for three shows in Texas and have invited Galea to be the opening act. Here are the dates...

August 13 - Dallas - The Door

August 14 - Austin - Stubb's

August 15 - Houston - Warehouse Live

As of today, the Houston show is confirmed but the Dallas and Austin shows are pending. This means you should call/email The Door and Stubbs to convince them to make the shows happen, just click on the links above...we could use your help!

The band had a great time in Ft Worth last week playing at the Ridglea with local greats Addnerim. They are now getting ready for a big show on June 19th at the Liquid Lounge in Dallas, where they will go on around 11:00p.m. Additionally, another show has been added in August at the Prophet Bar in Dallas.

Finally, for those of you who speak French, this review of Theo's Drive in was published on the site Music in Belgium. If you'd like a translation, send the band an email. Clips from the album are also featured in the 'auditorium' on the site.

A Ft Worth show was just added to the live show listings, this time at the Ridglea Theater. The band will open up for local progressive rock band Addnerim on Friday night, June 5th.
